Are you ready for a break from stress?

Are you ready for a break from stress?

You might be thinking…that’s not possible.  Life is crazy.  I am so busy working, running around with the kids, grand-kids, running a business or taking care of my elderly parents.  I’m on overload and constantly feeling anxious.

If you feel like this is you, keep reading because I have something that might help.

First let’s quickly talk about stress and anxiety because it is difficult to spot the differences between the two.  Both can lead to sleepless nights, lack of focus, excessive worry and irritability.  Even physical symptoms – like rapid heart rate, muscle tension and headaches.

In short, stress is your body’s reaction to a trigger and is generally a short-term experience. Stress can be positive or negative.  For example, when stress kicks in and helps you pull off that deadline you thought was a lost cause, it’s positive. When stress results in insomnia, poor concentration, or impaired ability to do the things you normally do, it’s negative.

Anxiety, on the other hand, is more sustained and can be triggered by stress. Anxiety doesn’t fade into the distance once the threat is mediated. Anxiety hangs around and can cause significant impairment in social, occupational, and other important areas of functioning.

When our lives get crazy, we often begin to mull over or dwell on all the things going on.  Our brains begin to work really hard to help us solve the problems we are giving it.

If you think about it, your brain is working overtime.  So, what can you do to give it support to help handle the stress or anxiety?

Are you ready?  Turn in tomorrow and I’ll tell you more.

Ta, ta, for now,

P.S.  BTW…..If you live locally, I would love to see you at Rebecca Christine’s Boutique Thursday night when I’ll be sharing some proven strategies to make your metabolism fight for you.  If you are interested in attending, click here for more information.
