Tending to your Lady Garden

Hey all…. I wanted to talk to you a little about the importance of tending to your inner garden to help you lose weight and manage your menopause symptoms.

Let me start with….

You were not destined to suffer from hormonal imbalance symptoms or frustrations with carrying around extra weight!

Your body is not defective.  It is an amazing machine that wants to be well-adjusted.

Look, clients come to me and ask… “am I going to suffer from moodiness, problems sleeping, brain fog and lack of a sex drive for the rest of my life?”

My answer to that is an emphatic NO!

You can naturally assist your body to balance itself and thrive at any age.

And you don’t have to use a pill or patch to do it!

First we need to start by determining which hormones are causing your symptoms.  Once we know that, we can often balance things out with a few adjustments to your inner garden.

Food is THE number one reset button.

The second is something that you can do right now at this very moment.

And that is….are you ready…

Water your inner garden by increasing your intake of water.

As we get older our body’s ability to sense thirst declines.

This makes it easier for our inner garden to become cellularly dehydrated without even knowing it.

Water is essential to how our inner garden and organs function.

When our inner garden isn’t hydrated well, our body will give whatever hydration it gets to our VITAL organs which are the brain, heart, kidneys, liver and lungs.

Did you notice your cervix, uterus, vagina and ovaries weren’t on that list?

Ya…..So…here’s what we need to do….

We need to keep our lady garden well hydrated.

And the way to do that is to increase the amount of water that we drink.

Here’s what happens when we keep our lady garden well hydrated.

You know those symptoms of painful sex, itching and yeast infections?  You can say goodbye to them.

Here’s why….if your even slightly dehydrated, your vaginal skin gets dry.

If your vaginal skin is dry on the outside, then it’s likely that the inside is too.

And that can lead to painful sex, itching, and yeast infections.

The vagina is a very delicate ecosystem.

Being even slightly dehydrated can throw off the PH balance and set a domino effect of complications into motion.

We don’t want that.

Ya….know, more than likely you are slightly dehydrated right now and you don’t even know it.

Researchers estimate that 75 percent of the American population is dehydrated.

Which brings me to…

Drinking more water will also keep your bowels regular, thus aiding in hormonal balance and weight loss.

Yup….having regular bowel movements (and by regular I mean at least once a day) is essential to hormonal balance and weight loss.

Here’s why.

Every day between 3 P.M. and 3 A.M. your liver metabolizes and breaks down excess hormones like cortisol and estrogen.

From the liver it goes to the gallbladder and then is passed on to the large intestine.

If you are drinking lots of water and eating a diet full of fiber-rich fruits and vegetables, these extra hormones are pushed out of the large intestine through the back door in your morning bowel movement.

But what happens when your bowels aren’t moving as regularly as they should?

Well if you’re not drinking enough water or eating a diet full of fiber-rich fruits and vegetables, chances are the contents of your lower intestine are sticking around longer than they ought to, allowing the metabolized hormones to re-enter your blood stream.

And girl…..this creates hormonal imbalances that can affect your mood, brain fog, your sex drive and your ability to lose weight.

So keep in mind that all it takes is a few more glasses of water a day to help keep your hormones balanced and your metabolism revved  so you can lose weight and feel your absolute best.

OK….so how do we go about making sure we are drinking enough water?

I suggest you start right where you with the amount of water you are drinking and then add 3 8-ounce cups of water a day to what you are already drinking?

Then work up to 10 8-ounce glasses of water a day.

Once you are at 80 ounces, drink that much for 4 weeks and see what happens.

I had a client who did this along with eating a diet full of fiber-rich fruits and vegetables, and she lost 4 pounds in a month and said goodbye to her menopause symptoms which were all related to being slightly dehydrated.

So, if you are having trouble losing weight and are experiencing hormonal imbalance symptoms, try drinking more water.  It will prepare you on a cellular level to lose the weight and assist your body to naturally balance your hormones.

Here’s my challenge for you:

  • Every time you are hungry, drink 8 ounces of water first.
  • Before every meal drink 8 ounces of water.
  • After you go to the bathroom, have a glass of water.
  • Find a way to add at least 3 8-ounce glasses of water to your life every day until you get to 10 8-ounce glasses of water a day.
  • Then drink 80 ounces of water a day for 4 weeks.

Give it a shot and journal what happens.
