Special tricks of the trade…..

Meet Melanie.  She is a 58-year old client of mine.

She is a wife, mother and businesswoman who has been on her share of diets from Weight Watchers, Beach Body, Jenny Craig, intermittent fasting and more.

In years past Melanie would go on one of those diets and lose 10 pounds bada bing bada boom.

Then, in her forty’s things started to change.

By the time she and I started working together she was carrying around an additional 30 pounds.

Can you relate?

Melanie thought the only long-term weight loss solution was to find “another diet”.

Here’s what I told Melanie.

Long term weight loss doesn’t happen in the kitchen.  It happens in your mind by training your thinking muscles.

And there is a proven technique to help you train your thinking muscles and recalibrate your mindset. It’s called cognitive restructuring and its part of my FEAST Academy program.

It goes like this:

Recognize
Stop
Replace

Athletes use it all the time. They know that thought patterns are like muscles and can be trained.

So, they are taught to put as much time and practice into building their thinking muscles as they put into the muscles they train for their sport.

That way, when a negative thought comes up, they recognize it, mentally stop thinking about it, and replace it with a more positive thought or vision.

And that’s how they build new thinking muscles.

This same technique needs to be used for long-term weight loss.

When it comes to making lifestyle changes, you will always struggle if you don’t accept the truth that you are not a victim of your thoughts and choose to put your thinking muscles into training.  Make up your mind to learn how to recognize the negative thoughts that hold you back from living the life you desire.

When that negative thought comes up simply stop it and to choose a thought that is going to help you win the game.

Follow the same technique the athlete uses, and you’ll change your life.

Mind over matter isn’t just a clever saying. You have complete control over your thoughts.

Choosing to have control over your thoughts can be the solution to your weight, hormone and health problems.

By using your brain power, you can develop the techniques needed to make healthy choices. When your mind and your body are both healthy, you have the best of both worlds.

Food for thought,
Patti
