These are a few photos from when my youngest sister and her husband traveled 400 miles to help me celebrate my birthday month. We even got the youngest in the family to join us one of the days. What a perfect way to feel the goodness of being alive.
This dedicated time away from work made me realize how much taking a break and spending time with loved ones nourishes my soul and enriches my life.
Taking breaks is something that can easily be applied to losing weight with similar life enriching outcomes.
You see, once we get it into our head that quality weight loss is a long, slow process, taking a break doesn’t hinder, it can actually help.
When someone continues to trudge along on a diet, it activates hormonal, neurological, and other biological processes that causes the body to adapt to the caloric deficit. Ultimately either slowing down weight loss or stopping it completely.
Data suggests a short-term, health-oriented, diet interruption may counter the adaption process.
It’s like nourishment for your metabolism.
So I’m curious…what you think?
If you were trying to lose weight, how would you feel if you incorporated occasional, planned, short-term diet interruptions?
DO YOU THINK IT WOULD ENRICH OR HINDER YOUR ABILITY TO LOSE WEIGHT AND STAY FOCUSED ON YOUR LONG-TERM GOAL?
