Pencil skirts, heels, big hair, lots of coffee and an “I’ve got this” attitude. That was me.
What many of you may not know about me is that I spent the first part of my career in high pressure corporate jobs.
I looked totally put together on the outside but on the inside, I was a mess.
I had high anxiety, dizzy spells and I struggled with embarrassing digestive issues.
My turning point didn’t come until I was in my 40’s and found a fabulous functional medicine doctor. She helped me discover the cause of my symptoms and taught me how to mend myself.
All my symptoms were caused by the bugs in my digestive track being out of whack.
Once I found the foods that triggered my symptoms, I learned how take charge of things.
To this day protecting the health of my digestion is my primary focus.
Often, we think our belly is fat when in fact it’s bloated. And we blame the bloat on menopause when it might not be menopause at all. It might mean you need to mend your digestive issues.
So how do you tell the difference?
Here’s a list of signs and symptoms of bloat:
- Increased burping or flatulence
- Abdominal discomfort
- High anxiety
- Moody
- Can’t poop
- Poop too often
- Can’t sleep
- Always tired
- Looking like you’re 4 month’s pregnant
- Brain fog
- Skin rashes or hives
- Also, belly fat feels spongy while belly bloat feels tight.
Do you experience any of these symptoms?
What makes us beautiful is that we are all different. Which means we each need a different strategy when it comes to mending our digestion.
I’ve put together a list of diet and lifestyle changes that might help. I think you’ll be surprised by some on this list.
We need to stop blaming menopause for everything so we can get to the real cause of our symptoms and take charge of our health.
Taking charge doesn’t have to be hard. As a matter of fact your body wants you to take charge. This list might help.
Sending love your way,
Patti
