The madness behind the meal plans

Can I use my own recipes?  That’s one of the questions I recently received.
The short answer is no.
The recipes and meals plans are the engine of the detox and there is science behind their design.
When your body becomes overburdened from the types of foods that are often eaten during the holidays, which are mostly processed foods, heavy meats and sugar, our detox pathways become congested.
That congestion causes a metabolic slow down and symptoms like:
  • Belly bloat
  • Weight gain or have difficulty losing weight
  • Joints aches
  • Constipation
  • Difficulty concentrating
  • Digestive discomfort like gas or acid reflux
  • Mood swings or anxiety
  • Hot flashes or night sweats
  • Fatigue
  • Trouble sleeping
  • Sleeping but still feeling tired
  • Migraines/headaches
  • Skin conditions
The good news is we can decongest detox pathways pretty quickly and feel a lot better relatively fast.
However, some detoxes are severe and stress the body. When we our body is stressed, it contracts and things slow down.
My detox is a gentle, whole food detox nutritionally targeted for pre and post menopause women.  It is designed to decongest detox pathways and open the flow to our filtering systems which are our body’s purifying systems.  That way our body is better able to eliminate waste hormones and toxins through our liver, GI tract, kidneys, and lymphatic system.
Here’s an example of just one recipe.  This one recipe supports our liver, which is our major detoxification organ. The nutrition from food in the recipe I’m referring to helps:
  • liver function,
  • kidneys,
  • has a gastric acid neutralizing effect on our GI system,
  • supports colon peristalsis,
  • helps bind lipid (fat) substances in the intestines so that the body absorbs fewer triglycerides,
  • improves cellular metabolism,
  • and is a natural diuretic.
All that from one recipe!
During the 5-days we also crowd out foods that cause inflammation like processed foods, heavy meats, sugar, dairy and gluten.
Why do we want to crowd these foods out?  Because internal inflammation can be one of the causes of weight loss resistance, hormone imbalance symptoms and a multitude of health concerns.
So doing a gentle, targeted nutrition, whole food detox is the ultimate act of self-care.
It gently gives your body a chance to clean up and reset.
