Red Cabbage, Feta, Date Salad


  • 1 small head red cabbage slice very thin
  • 4-5 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon toasted sesame seed or walnut oil
  • 2 tablespoons lime or lemon juice
  • Salt to taste
  • Sprinkle of red pepper flakes
  • About 1/2 cup pitted dried dates or figs, coarsely chopped or sliced
  • 4 ounces feta crumbled into chunks
  • ½ cup chopped walnuts


  • Slice cabbage and place in a bowl. Add oils, lemon juice, salt, red pepper flakes and toss to coat the cabbage. Let stand 15 minutes. Just before serving add dates, nuts and feta. Mix and enjoy.
